As an Eagle Project, Tommy Carey took on sanding and sealing the wood amphitheater at the Georgetown School nature area. This project involved over 200 man hours by over thirty individuals. Tommy did all the behind the scenes work getting the approvals from the school and the El Dorado District Advancement Chairman. After months of preparation the project was scheduled to begin with wood sanding and preparation on Oct. 9, 2010. Seventeen persons used belt sanders, hand sanders and rasps to prepare the wood for sealing the next week. A generator was provided by Tom's dad to run the power tools. On Oct 16, 2010 another fifteen persons completed the sanding and the sealing of the wood. The finished project is a job that Georgetown School and Troop 959 can be proud of. Attached are pictures of the completed project.
