The California Aerospace museum was free to the public on February 6, 2010. Troop 959 took advantage of this special free day to visit and take pictures. They were especially impressed with the Blue Angel Plane (Navy Demonstration Team-see above). Also the DC3 that flew on D-Day (Green Plane above) was a "must see." After about two hours of examining planes, motors, and jet engines we had work up an appetite that we satisfied with a trip to the "Golden Corral" restaurant.

Trip to Coast Guard Base a Huge Success
The scouts were able to visit the Coast Guard Installation at McClellan Field on January 16, 2010. The scouts were shown the briefing center, the flight control center, the workout area, the hanger and repair shop, and the flight line. They were able to see a C130 taken in and out of the hanger. They were also able to explore a C130 from the flight deck to the tail section. As an added bonus the MeClellan Field firemen gave the scouts a briefing and demonstration of some of the fire truck water canons. The trip was capped off with a trip to the "Golden Corral" Restaurant for a buffet lunch.
